I was born and raised in Minnesota
I really wanted to play the saxophone but my parents couldn’t afford one, but since they were Johnny Cash fans they offered up a guitar instead
Thank God
All those early morning hours trying to play a saxophone with other people in the house asleep would never have worked out
I have played in a variety of bands over the years that no one remembers, not sure I even do
But that’s ok ‘cause I just do it for a good time and creative outlet and no other reason
I kind of feel like that line in a Paul Simon song where he sings “I’m just thanking the Lord for my fingers.”
